There are a number of programs at the University that offer unique core competencies, such as expertise in business, science, engineering, humanities, arts, and music. These core competencies and the research and development centers offer the capabilities to support business and product development efforts at various stages, which in turn supports regional economic growth.

The Office of Economic Development integrates WKU’s facilities, programs, and services, and links these economic development units with the private sector to incubate start-up businesses and early stage technologies, and prepares existing businesses for the next platform for growth with a goal to promote regional economic growth. These units offer their programs under the umbrella of “WKU’s Network for Business and Economic Growth.”
